Libero Della Piana, a community activist, said a mouthful when asked to comment on the Justice Department's report on Ferguson.
Ferguson police officers also routinely threatened and intimidated African-Americans, the report said, including "threats to draw or fire their weapons, often for seemingly little or no cause."

The hammer is a great symbol for what an entire American community of color encounters in the insults and brutalities of "conservative" whites in militarized law enforcement -- not just in Ferguson but "all over this land."
On the other hand, the hammer is what all of us should have in our hands. We are responsible for controlling our law enforcement no less than we are responsible for our Congress and our military.
