Typepad has been down at intervals during the past month or so, the victim of a series of DDOS attacks. Yesterday it was pretty much an all-day outage with Typepad customers getting angrier and more frustrated -- to judge by their Facebook comments. Typepad, so far, doesn't ante up for the hours paid for by customers and lost by customers.
Maybe it's just an idle hacker having fun; or maybe it's someone with a grudge; or maybe... who knows! It's amazing, though, how much life there is out there beyond blogging!
