That's the Washington Post's word for Romney now.
Romney and his advisers have been using increasingly hot language to charge that the president has abandoned his 2008 themes of hope and change. But they became particularly incensed by an ad from Priorities USA, a pro-Obama super PAC, that suggests Romney is to blame for the death of a woman whose husband lost his job and health insurance after Bain Capital, a firm Romney co-founded, took over the steel mill where he worked.
Romney’s selection of Rep. Paul Ryan (Wis.), an intellectual leader of the conservative movement, as his running mate was expected to crystallize the policy differences between the Democratic and Republican tickets and elevate the conversation to a substantive debate about the federal debt and entitlement programs.
But the high-minded campaign has not come to be. ...WaPo
Romney has never been seen as anything approaching "charming" or "charistmatic." If he had, he could get away with some campaign ugliness. Where Romney has failed is in his apparent disdain for voters, his inability to connect. Obama could get away with turning "ugly" on occasion. But Romney can't. Too many of us already see him as very, very unattractive. The Obama campaign sees him as "unhinged."

Having heard Romney just now on the news, I'd say "ugly" and "whiny." Man! Those Republicans know how to dish it out, but not how to take it. But a candidate who complains -- whines! -- about how hot the kitchen is getting should probably get out of the kitchen. He sounded like a kid in school, a privileged kid who's a bully by nature and who doesn't think he should have to play by the rules. I've gone from political opposition to outright disgust with this man.
