Nicholas Kristof is staying in Tahrir Square in Cairo in spite of the growing dangers for foreign journalists in Egypt. He makes a good point: If they're throwing out foreign media or otherwise preventing them from reporting, what are they about to do that they don't want the outside world to see?
USA Today is reporting that two Washington Post correspondents have been detained.
The Washington Post says its Cairo bureau chief, Leila Fadel, and photographer, Linda Davidson, are among two dozen journalists arrested this morning by the Egyptian Interior Ministry.
"We understand that they are safe but in custody, and we have made urgent protests to Egyptian authorities in Cairo and Washington," says Douglas Jehl, the Post's foreign editor. "We've advised the State Department as well."
