It was 20 months ago this week that Rahm Emanuel unpacked his boxes in the West Wing, placed several framed pictures of his family on his bookshelves and began welcoming visitors. ... So, has he started packing those boxes yet, hoping to land an even bigger office in Chicago’s City Hall?
Several friends of Mr. Emanuel say that while he has not absolutely made up his mind, they believe the chances that he decides against running are extremely slim.
A far bigger uncertainty is when he would step down from his post at the White House. He has two months to collect the signatures needed to place his name on the ballot for the February election.
So when will those boxes be packed?
The best guess from many inside the West Wing is two weeks – or less. ...Jeff Zeleny, NYT
