Barbara writes at Mahablog about President Obama's meeting yesterday with those querulous wankers on the Hill.
Sen. Pat Roberts told the media that the President should have taken a Valium before meeting with Republicans. But how do we know he didn’t? Very few men would not have jumped over the table to choke somebody under the same circumstances. The President either has the discipline of Gandhi, or he was heavily medicated. Last night at a San Francisco fundraiser for Sen. Barbara Boxer, the President hinted he was done playing Charlie Brown to the GOP’s Lucy with the football.
I used to love Obama's mature self-restraint and hope he holds onto it as a general rule. But something's gotta give here. What's need badly is the sight of the president hitting Corker and the rest of them out of the park and doing so with the real humor -- something he's fully capable of doing and doing well.
That would a) get them out of the way, while b) puncturing their childish pomposity, and c) diminishing their ability to be taken seriously from now on.
