The surge in populism isn't limited to the US. The disgust and anger felt by The People --from Central Asia to the Middle East to Greece to Italy to the US and beyond -- suggests there's a disparate international movement against corporatism and greed in all its forms and corrupt governments in all their self-righteousness.
Italians want Berlusconi outta there. We wanted W outta there. The Greeks would like to drop some heavy marble objects on their leadership. Even the Taliban are looking a little worried and Netanyahu is twitchy.
Someone, somewhere, will be overwhelmed by the outcry for an end to corruption and you know what? I'd be willing to lay a couple of Vatican euros down on Pope Benny the Ratzinger taking a fall.
