Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont has an embarrassing hygiene problem, at least according to Dr. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma, also a senator.
Sanders' first and almost unmentionable problem is a matter of political hygiene: he is a (I'm sorry if the children are reading this) a democratic socialist. That's a disability most senators prefer to discuss only in private, particularly when it has led to the most disgusting odor -- single-payer health insurance.
“I admire Senator Sanders for his willingness to fight publicly for what many advocate only privately: a single-payer health care system funded and controlled by bureaucrats and politicians in Washington,” Mr. Coburn said. ...NYT
"Admire" him, yes. But stand next to him, no.
Of course, when it comes to stink, someone might toss back at Dr. Coburn that old retort: A fox smells its own hole first.
