Joe Lieberman's constituency may throw him out. Connecticut is a pro-health-care bill state by 47-42 and the public option by 64 to 30, according to Nate Silver .
Were he to vote against the health care package, or vote to filibuster it, this would just about guarantee that he wouldn't be the Democratic nominee in 2012 would be vigorously and angrily opposed by everyone from the top levels of the Democratic establishment to the netroots. Republicans would then have to decide whether to field a candidate on their own or let Lieberman duke it out with the Democratic nominee ...
As Silver puts it, Lieberman is "flirting with political suicide."
