It's worth reading Ross Douthat's columns at the Times. Douthat is the new conservative face replacing Kristol's mooning arse on the Times' op-ed pages.
Douthat isn't quite as bad as Kristol, but he writes like a smart-alecky kid. You feel almost sorry for him. You feel sorrier for him, and personally gratified, when you read the comments he gets at the Times' website. I'm serious. Some of the best writing and thinking at the Times website is being done by readers in response to Douthat's writings. Which probably says something good about Douthat thoughI'm having a hard time framing it!
