Seen the Canadian TV series "Intelligence"? Then you can understand suffering -- from withdrawal symptoms. The fact that the US turns out to be the biggest villain (compared to some pretty villainous Canadian drug kingpins and their corrupt counterparts in Canadian law enforcement), is only part of the pleasure. While Canadian criminals and government officials are (however crummy) always polite, the US (as represented by the DEA and CIA) is a bully. It takes what it wants when it wants, at any price, with no remorse and with no mercy to the victim. Evidently, the CBC ended the series because of the political implications. Americans, though, will recognize us.
Really, if you haven't seen it, rent it. Quite apart from the international politics, it's an absorbing character-driven series. Edge-of-seat stuff.
