I would be surprised if the killing of the abortion provider in a Wichita church today didn't do some serious harm to the "pro-life" movement. Anti-abortion activists, interviewed by NPR, expressed dismay.
Apparently the authorities have caught the perp. What will he say in court? "I'm pro-life, so I killed the doctor"?
Still, I don't think blanket choice will be legal, maybe ever. I think pro-choicers will find themselves having to rethink that difficult issue, "when life begins." It's just not something we can skip lightly over.
