I'm not all that worried about the effect on New Yorkers of the Air Force One's overflight (chased by fighter jets, no less). The NY'ers I've heard -- the ones who actually saw the planes -- seemed pretty sure that the War On Terror had not moved back to lower Manhattan. The Hudson River crash landing a few months ago seemed a little more of an event.
What does get me is the use of a major fuel gulper plus escorts to take some "promotional photographs" during a) an environmental crisis, and b) an economic crisis. No wonder Obama was "furious."
