I know you know that I consider the American flag to be indispensable to any discussion of fact. We know that people who wear flag pins are more likely to be truthful than those who don't. Same goes for people who display the flag on the front lawn, in their car, and on just about any article of clothing. Obviously -- I mean like obviously -- Keith Olbermann (whom I've never seen, not having TV) is a very truthful person. Any journalist or wannabe journalist who doesn't display the flag at every opportunity isn't going to get a second chance from me, that's for sure.
The "Countdown" anchor man -- as if we needed further proof of his patriotism -- did not vote last week, according to Think Progress. But he did get paid. Let's see: that's $7.5 million annual contract divided by 52 weeks (if I've got my math right) comes out just short of $145,000 a week. That includes the week he didn't not vote. The flag cost about $1.25. Check and see what a latte costs these days of hardship, misery, and twilight's last gleaming.
