Samuel J. Wurzelbacher, aka "Joe the Plumber", turns out to be, well, not a licensed plumber. And he doesn't pay his taxes. Oh, and he says Obama tap dances like Sammy Davis, Jr. But he is, contrary to early reports, registered to vote. He just didn't bother to make sure his name was spelled right. That, and he doesn't tell the truth on his Facebook page.
Joe the plumber. A McCain hero. 15 minutes of fame and a T-shirt.
“Vote Joe the Plumber ’08,” one shirt reads, with the tag: “No More Drips in the White House.”
Wait! There's more! Pant, pant!
This is rich, super-rich. Via Andrew Sullivan, Robert Elisberg's column has this delicious piece of news.
"Joe Wurzelbacher is apparently related to Robert Wurzelbacher. Who is the son-in-law of (are you ready...?) Charles Keating!
"Yes, that Charles Keating. The Charles Keating of the Keating 5 Scandal. For which John McCain was reprimanded by the United States Senate, for his involvement in attempting to illegally influence government regulators. The Charles Keating who John McCain has been trying to avoid have mentioned. So, he basically mentioned it 24 times.
"(By the way, lost in all the attention paid to John McCain not getting the same career-ending censure by the Senate, as did the other four defendants - the reason for that is because he'd been in the House of Representatives at the time of his transgression. The Senate decided that they didn't have jurisdiction over him to give the same penalty. So, his career was saved.)"
Well, that last part we all knew. But the Keating connection? Omigod.
