So. Not much confidence in the bailout.  "Anxiety lingers." Dow's down almost 400 points and the S&P and NASDAQ are even worse at +/- 4%.

News isn't good for John McCain either.

"Senator John McCain’s top aides convened a conference call today to complain of being called 'liars.' They pressed the media to scrutinize specific elements of Senator Barack Obama’s record."

Trouble is, they are liars.

"But the call was so rife with simple, often inexplicable misstatements of fact that it may have had the opposite effect: Deepening the perception, dangerous to McCain, that he and his aides have little regard for factual accuracy."

And furious.  Should we be watching for steam coming out of the volatile senator's ears?

"Asked about the series of errors, McCain aides could not provide evidence to back up Schmidt’s assertions. One McCain aide, Michael Goldfarb, said Politico was 'quibbling with ridiculously small details when the basic things are completely right.'

"Another, Brian Rogers, responded more directly:  'You are in the tank,' he emailed.

More like the McCain campaign is "in the tank"?

They're furious at the New York Times, too.
