Ike is now moving out of the deep waters and onto the wide coastal shelf where the water is shallower and warmer.  Warm water strengthens hurricanes.  That's probably why they're now speculating that it will become a strong cat 3 storm by the time it hits the coast.  Brains and Eggs, y'all git on out of there now, hear?
