Apparently the need for money is greater than admitted over at Clintonland. The Clinton campaign is going all out to raise some bucks through a series of events in which you pay to get in. You pay a lot. Ben Smith has the details at his blog, having been slipped the leaked email.
Here's one piece of the action:
Hillary Live! – Evening with Senator Hillary Clinton
Date: Monday, February 25
Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Location: Downtown - TBD
Washington, DC
Ticket Levels: General Admission - $150 (limited availability), Preferred Seating - $250
Host Committee – Raise $2,500
But this is only the tip of the iceberg. It's not just about Hillary and Bill Clinton. Truthfully, the need for so much money by any candidate is what deserves some serious snark and focused political effort to change the way run our presidential campaigns -- any campaigns. Every time the dollar signs come into view a lot of us think about what we're not spending out money on. The thought that we're stacking up huge offerings of lucre for candidates -- some of whom will run our government in much the same way the detested George W. Bush has done -- is pretty awful. Come 'n' get it, guys and gals: more corporate dominance, more war, more secrecy, more corruption, and more shame.
