"House of Cards" was a terrific British political thriller some years back. Now Netflix has sunk $100 million into a new venture -- the first of Netflix originals. So here comes this "original" -- the DC version of "House of Cards."
Of course I'll add it to my queue, though a glittering, often hammy, Kevin Spacey isn't my first idea of fun for...how many hours? What is good, though, is the opener of the New York Times' review of the series opener.

Pretty good opener, they say. But the fun doesn't last. The "romp," says the Times, turns all too quickly into a "dirge." Kind of like Washington soon after an election? Tip: rent the original.
