Marco Rubio is one of those guys who now and then almost convinces you that he's a grownup. And then he goes and spoils it with some really dumb statement! Quite apart from wholesale quotes of NRA talking points, he now falls back on blaming Obama. Obama doesn't "have the guts" to challenge the Second Amendment.
Igor Volsky at Think Progress picked up on this stale stuff and does his part to straighten Rubio out. If you'll excuse a Spanglish pun, ol' Marco should be blushing.

But the Constitution permits a broad range of gun safety measures. As conservative Justice Antonin Scalia concluded in Heller v. DC, the government can restrict ownership of “dangerous and unusual” weapons and that “nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions and qualifications on the commercial sale of arms.” ...Think Progress
