Gravina Island didn't get the bridge, they got a new road instead. That's what Gov. Palin did with those Bridge to Nowhere funds.
She kept 'em. They didn't go back to the taxpayers' general fund in Washington. Instead, Palin redirected the bucks to Gravina Island. Okay? End of story. That's the lipstick on that pig.
Oh wait. There's more.
FactCheck.org is pissed off at the McCain campaign for some very cynical misuse of their material. Laura Rozen found this as well as other nasty little McCain bits and pieces.
Rozen also has this horrific report on a plan by the Michigan Republican party to disenfranchise African-American voters using "a list of foreclosed homes to block people from voting in the upcoming election as part of the state GOP’s effort to challenge some voters on Election Day." This bit was particularly nasty:
"McCain’s regional headquarters are housed in the office building of foreclosure specialists Trott & Trott. The firm’s founder, David A. Trott, has raised between $100,000 and $250,000 for the Republican nominee.
"The Macomb County party’s plans to challenge voters who have defaulted on their house payments is likely to disproportionately affect African-Americans who are overwhelmingly Democratic voters. More than 60 percent of all sub-prime loans — the most likely kind of loan to go into default — were made to African-Americans in Michigan, according to a report issued last year by the state’s Department of Labor and Economic Growth."
Rozen, if you haven't checked her blog lately, has some of the most relevant, under-reported news to be found anywhere.
