If indeed those supporters do diminish her, it's with a wink and a nod from the senator herself. I don't doubt she privately agrees with them 100%.

Yeah, but (and I don't like her) I think she rose above believing that she was owed success in her first run at the presidency and if she didn't get it, it was all about prejudice. Throughout her campaign, she reminded me of that great line said by Sigourney Weaver's character in "Working Girl": "Yes, but I am, after all, me!"
