Gee, this blog has been on the standing on left side of Utterly Disgusted for so long it's hard to hand out any kudos to the Bush Justice Department. I'm pretty sure that feeling crosses all aisles. Now DOJ has gone and indicted Senator Ted Stevens for a full listing of what one is obliged to call "allegations." Justice has done all this just before yet another primary in which "Uncle Ted", now an old codger and very popular in his home state, was a shoo-in. No doubt, they say, he would have been reelected in November.
All of that is just a nasty smell in the air, perhaps some smoke coming out the Viking grill which a tame, docile corporation gave (among many other things) to the senator.
It's nice to see someone who votes right along with Mitch McConnell and gang get pitched headlong into the dumpster. Or maybe not. This whole thing may turn out to have been been a mirage. Stevens may be reelected and just have to forego the Viking grill. Or keep it out of sight.

It's almost like extraditing an 85 year old Nazi. Except Stevens not only didn't leave well enough alone, he's being hassled today for a standard operating procedure extending back decades.
Life is indeed unfair.
