Hillary Clinton's speech last night was so full of references to self and so loaded with "applaud me" lines as to be terminally embarrassing. "What do I want?" she yelled hoarsely.
I had to switch it off, recovering only when I saw the Washington Post headline, "In Defeat, Clinton Graciously Pretends to Win." Whether Dana Milbank actually wrote that headline himself, or whether it came from some genius down the line, it's probably the best punchline of the campaign.
Some leagues to the west, Barack Obama was telling his huge crowd what a terrific campaigner Hillary had been and went on to talk about what he hopes to do for us. Talk about "gracious" ...
