Hillary, dear, this is the Democratic party. Did you take a wrong turn somewhere and wind up in the wrong party? Sort of looks that way. Maybe you should join the Republicans, the party which has the rules you like. For our part, we'll do our best to speed you on your way. We'll try to forgive you for taking all this time and space and all these resources (which would buy top-notch healthcare for an awful lot of kids) while not knowing your own party's rules.

Hey, remember she began as a Goldwater girl, and I think it was that inescapable, stale taste of GOP Lite (the WalMart connection, the Flag Amendment, the War Vote) to her whole project that cost her the prize. That, and Bill morphing into Mayor Dailey (the first one) instead of, say, Jimmy Carter.
