Meanwhile, Barack Obama...
Seems to me that this guy, whether you like him or not, hits the target more often than any other candidate...*
In South Carolina on Saturday, Mr. Obama suggested that he would be a stronger candidate in the general election than Mrs. Clinton, whom he called “a colleague and a friend.”
“She’s also a skilled politician, and she’s run what Washington would call a textbook campaign, but the problem is the textbook itself,” Mr. Obama said. “It’s a textbook that’s all about winning elections but says nothing about how to bring the country together to solve problems.”
Later, he added: “I am not running for this office to fulfill any long-held plans or because I believe it is somehow owed to me.”
*...with the exception of Ron Paul who also talks straight even though some of what he says is clearly unacceptable. We are wrong if we dismiss the wide popularity of straight talk. Paul's attraction to many on the right is reminiscent of the appeal of Howard Dean's honesty to so many Democrats (and liberal Republicans).
