Hillary Clinton is telling people that "she is more worried about winning the Democratic nomination than winning a general election against a Republican."
The crowd of Democratic candidates is about the best we've seen in years... decades. And not all the announcements have been made. The New York Times, in an analysis of Clinton's chances, notes:
With this presidential campaign starting far earlier than any in history, Mrs. Clinton, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and their five Democratic rivals find themselves facing 400 more days before the nomination is sealed up. Each of those days could bring a surprise or flub or Senate vote or controversy that might change their political fortunes. The field is still growing, too: Gov. Bill Richardson of New Mexico is expected to jump in today. And whither John Kerry? Wesley Clark? Al Gore?
Let's not forget that most of these candidates don't see themselves as winning the nomination. What they're doing for the party -- and for you and me -- is to provide a forum for a wide discussion of issues. The losers aren't losers: they're good soldiers in a group effort to address the most pressing issues, to reverse the damage of the past two terms.
London Sunday Times: Hillary is "the new Thatcher"

Iraq will be the deciding factor among the Democratic candidates in 2008, and Hillary was flat wrong on the subject. More and more it looks like it will be Al Gore's election to lose, please see http://minor-ripper.blogspot.com/2006/12/why-al-gore-will-vanquish-hillary.html
