Look at what Bush said when he named Scott McClellan as his incoming press secretary.
“I look forward to working closely with him to make sure that the American people, and, of course, the press corps, gets the information that's needed to reflect the philosophy and the decision making of this administration,’’ Bush said at the time.
Not, you'll note, the information voters need but the information they are to be force-fed.
Nice ha-ha conversation today between Al Franken and David Brock about the possibility (apparently real) that Tony Snow,* of Fox, could replace McClellan. Franken was very worried that if Snow were to take the job, it might make it look as though Fox has links to the White House -- making Fox appear to be less fair and balanced than it is...
No replacement was named. McClellan said he would remain for two to three weeks and help pick his successor. Fox News reported that one of its commentators, Tony Snow, a speechwriter for former President George H.W. Bush, has discussed the job with White House officials. Another possible replacement, according to Fox, is Dan Senor, the former spokesman for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq.

Hey! I'll be in Texas next month! But Austin, far away from the prairie, I reckon.
