Censuring the President
...In a copy of the censure resolution obtained by ABC News, Feingold asserts the president, "repeatedly misled the public prior to the public disclosure of the National Security Agency surveillance program by indicating his administration was relying on court orders to wiretap suspected terrorists inside the United States." Feingold cites three instances over a year-long period in which Bush outlined the necessity of a court order or a judge's permission prior to a domestic wiretap of a U.S. citizen...
Let's not kid ourselves. Every effort will be made to blunt, probably block, this resolution. But there's been a change in the way the media is handling criticism and prospective censure of Bush. It's in the news. That can only be because the media are aware of a groundswell of disapproval in the country.
It's up to those who believe Bush deserves censure to flood their senators' offices with support for the resolution -- whether those senators are Republicans or Democrats. They say snail-mail is best. I'm going to go one step further and send registered letters to both Texas senators, both Republicans, both supporters of Bush, and both due for a heads-up from state which is finding its Democratic huevos.
Update: You can become a co-sponsor of Feingold's censure resolution here.

I'm watching it all now on Cspan. Arlen Specter is full of crap
